Brrr.. DEHV hospice volunteer takes the annual Polar Bear Dip!

Updated: Oct 7, 2020

On February 28th, Amy Hodgdon of Dennysville, long time Down East Hospice volunteer, dove into the frigid waters of Cobscook Bay off Pleasant Point in Perry. Barbara Barnett, DEHV's director of volunteers, was there to cheer Amy on with good cheer and a blanket to greet her once back on shore.

This annual Polar Bear Dip raises funds for both the Ronald MacDonald House and Sarah's House, both havens for cancer patients throughout Maine.

Amy has bravely participated in this plunge every year for a span of over 18 years, representing Down East Hospice Volunteers.

Thank you to everyone who pledged and supported Amy in yet another endeavor braving the icy waters of our beautiful coast.

If you are interested in supporting Amy for next year's icy dip, please contact DEVH for donation instructions. It is never too early to remember how quickly time goes by.
